Not snowing here!
In Crete, the temperatures are running at around 22 Celsius and we have had constant sunshine right through from Christmas until now. With another week predicted, it is such a shame that I am spending so much time doing my annual chore of the company accounts.
We were discussing yesterday why so few people come here in the winter. The weather is mainly mild and we have lovely properties which are available throughout the year. It is a chance to experience the real hospitality of the local people and traditional food which you would never find in the summer months.
Flights are available from Aegean and Olympic, via Athens, and are the same price, or sometimes less, than the charters in the summer. You get a good meal and your luggage is transferred to the shuttle flight to Chania or Heraklion so there is no second check-in for your baggage.
