You learn something new every day

5 months after arriving in the west of Crete we found an amazing place the other night which was just around the corner, in the village of Armenoi. The taverna has streams running around it which will be great in the summer and the food and wine (Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot from Stylos!) were excellent. The wine list was extensive for such a small place. The place mats are pieces of blank brown paper and you are given  wax crayons to draw a picture on them. They take all the picures and put them in an album. The music was jazzy and good and the log burner in the corner kept the place wonderfully warm.

The taverna is not easy to find unless you know its there and is called  TZITZIKAS. We will certainly be telling our guests and our friends about this one!
